The main job for the South Turrets is to help keep Tequatl's Scales from reaching 20 and creating a Bone Wall, which will make him invulnerable until it is removed, as well as cleansing and buffing the zerg. This all needs to be done for a good Tequatl run, because the zerg will die very fast if the poison AoEs are never cleansed.

 

They also are responsible for cleansing on the South side of the map. This includes South Hills, South Turrets themselves, and the zerg. Also, if they can reach and it's needed, they are responsible for cleaning South Boat.

 

To remove Tequatl's Scales, the turrets need to target Teq's head and press 2. This should be done immediately once the ability is off of cooldown (CD).

 

Buffs are also available as well as cleansing, which clears the poison AoE, on 3-5. These are extremely important to helping the zerg and keeping them alive.

 

T1-T3, or South Turrets, is often considered to be the harder of the two turret positions because they have more to do than North Turrets.
